An online educational portal is launched to revolutionize and digitize learning in Pakistan

A UK-based educational consulting firm, Imperial Consulting Inc in collaboration with All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), Sindh has built and launched an online educational portal, ‘Akadimis’, on Wednesday.

The portal is primarily designed to promote the significance of soft skills that includes communication, decision making, leadership, creativeness, innovation and extra-curricular activities. Moreover, online educational portal will help reduce the culture of tuition system in Pakistan.

Director of Imperial Consulting Inc, Neha Syed stated:

“The portal will help promote soft skills and enhance the education system and curriculum”

Three step model

The comprehensive educational portal is exclusively designed for K-12 schools. It will cater students from Kindergarten to the Intermediate level. Additionally, it is expected to revolutionize the traditional method of teaching and learning through a three-step model.

1- Learn

This model will contain material like lectures, PDFs, presentation on PowerPoint and videos for the comprehension of core concept.

2- Practice

Once students will be done with learning phase, they will move on to the practice stage. In this model, students will get to refine their skills. It will contain worksheets, assignments and questions which will challenge the concept and learning level of student.

3- Test

A student will be appeared in a real-time test which will check their understanding level. Thereafter, the scorecard will be shared with the student and his teacher.

Neha Syed also stated that the online educational portal will help schools to digitize educational content via one click. She further added:

“The portal is trying to flip the classroom system, where time is used for more effective learning”

On displacing the tuition culture, she said:

“Parents, who pay huge amounts in tuition fees, will save money”

The experts at ‘Akadimis’ also train teachers along with the students on educational content based on their curriculum. The training gives an opportunity to the schools to instill creativity, innovation and leaderships skills among both teachers and students. Government of Pakistan is also working on a smart school project, which will transform existing schools into smart schools.
