Nintendo to make a comeback in November by re-releasing NES Classic

Brace yourself. If you are in your 20s or even 30s, you are going to be taken back to the 1980s when you had your hands on the Nintendo. On Thursday, software giant, Nintendo, announced that it is making a comeback with a bang later this year in November after the release of a smaller and mini version of nostalgic Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition.

This move was triggered after the colossal success of Pokeman Go worldwide. Millions of people have gone totally berserk and the game is trending on all social media platforms even since it was launched.

Release date, number of pre-installed games and pricing

The sale of afresh NES Classic Edition will start from 11th November later this year. The mini console will come with a controller and it will function exactly in the same manner as the original NES gamepad does. Players will have the luxury to use the controller to play the game on an existing Wii system (a home video game console released by Nintendo on 19th November, 2006).

The NES Classic Edition will come with as many as 30 incorporated games which will include Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Kirby’s Adventure, Bubble Bobble and more.

The cost of the mini NES Classic Edition will be $59.99. Nintendo will sell additional controllers separately for $10 each to work with two-player modes.

Statements from Nintendo America

President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, while making a statement said:

“We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo’s original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place”

He further added:

“The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers”

The new console is described as a ‘mini replica’. At the outset, it will apparently be launched only in the US for now. It is also compatible with our new-age TV sets as NES classic edition plugs-in with HDMI cable.
