Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Matrix Intech have formed a partnership to introduce an app specifically for the safety of women. Titled as Shesafe, the app was developed with an aim to keep the women and their families’ safe 24 hours round the clock.
Shesafe is equipped with both everyday safety and real-time emergencies. The app is absolutely free and it just costs nothing other than downloading it. One of the key advantages of the app is that a woman can send an emergency alert to her members in their circle just when they feel secure anywhere in any way.
Key features of Shesafe
1- You can add your friends, family members and colleagues in your own created groups which are known as ‘circles’ within the app
2- A user is entitled to circle in a family locator
3- On a private family map which is only available and visible on family locator, a user can watch the real-time location of the circle members
4- No more ‘where are you’ texts or calls since you will be able to receive real-time alerts on your device as soon as a circle member arrive or leave a particular destination

There are thoughts that PTI jalsas, rallies and political sit-ins are unsafe for the women of Pakistan. As a result, the women get too little support from their families to actively participate in the political activities. To counter this ambiguity, PTI worked closely and rigorously with the developers give shape to Shesafe.
It is pertinent to mention that the app was designed with an aim to safeguard the women of Pakistan in general.
Subsequently, PTI came up with their own idea to provide more sense of security to women via using technology. It is expected that this move will bring a lot sense of security among the women and deep down, they will feel safer.
The usage of this application will enable the women in campaigns to send immediate alerts to the security in charge both online and offline. Later, the security in-charge can reach at the exact destination to save the women from any possible problem. Moreover, the political party i.e. PTI will also ask all the women participants to install the Shesafe application so that they can stay safe and report any unforeseen incident to the security.
Police helpline and app’s connectivity with KPK police
Another significant feature of Shesafe is that women will be able to call the police as soon as they will foresee something fishy is going to take place. As a result, they will get instant help from the police.
Moreover, the app will be connected with the KPK Police and Cybercrime Department of KPK Government. The motive behind this connection is that the police will get real-time complaints from those women who are generally reluctant to go to the police stations.
KPK police can also assign a special task force to cover the issue of women getting wrong numbers and unsuitable content on the social media while strictly maintaining the privacy of the user.
