Samsung S7 overtakes iPhone 6S (sales wise) in America

Mobile customers in the United State of America (USA) prefer Samsung’s leading devices Galaxy S7 and S7-Edge over Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S-Plus, according to the latest US mobile market data report Kantar Worldpanel. The largest smartphone vendors are the biggest competitors of each other.

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7-Edge have been sold in greater quantities than Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S-Plus in the three-month period that ended in the month of May. The report further revealed that Apple’s flagship smartphone family is lagging behind Samsung’s latest with 16% of American consumers buying a Galaxy S7 or S7-Edge and 14.6% buying an iPhone 6S or 6S-Plus.

This is the first time Apple has suffered decline in their sales numbers since the smartphone was introduced back in 2007. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7-Edge went on sale in March this year with Virtual Reality offers to attract more customers while Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S-Plus were released in September last year.

The sales chart was astonishing for Samsung who secured 37% of the market share in the USA as compared to Apple’s 29%.

Customers are more loyal to Apple than Samsung

Even though Apple lost to Samsung in terms of sales, it is still ahead of the latter company in terms of customer satisfaction. 88% of current Apple users and 86% of current Samsung users intend to stay loyal and do not plan to change the brand.

Moreover, 14% of the people who purchased Apple’s iPhone devices during the period under review were Samsung customers earlier. Only 5% of the Samsung’s sales came from people switching away from Apple.

This is the first time Samsung’s devices Galaxy S7 and S7-Edge have outstripped Apple’s iPhone devices 6S and 6S-Plus. Samsung is hopeful that the company will also surpass Apple’s new device after the launch of ‘Note 7.’
