Why Startups Should Look Towards the Crowdfunding Industry for Funding

The year 2016 is predicted to be a monumental one as crowdfunding experts suggest that money raised by venture capitalist with be outpaced by crowdfunders. Only five short years ago in 2011, early adopters crowdfunded $1.5 billion for entrepreneurs which only accounted for about three percent of all start-up funding. As we fast forward to 2014, global crowdfunding experienced accelerated growth expanding by 167 percent to surpass $16 billion raised, up from $6.1 billion funded the year before. By 2025, this is number is expected to grow over $300 billion throughout the world annually. This industry isn’t even close to maturing and startup entrepreneurs still have time to take advantage of new platforms rising up, such as the development of Fig.co, equity and real estate funding which are diversifying the crowdfunding landscape.
