You can nominate your university for a visit from Google

Couple of day ago, Google announced that they would visit 9 Pakistani universities later this month. The purpose of tech giant to visit the universities in Pakistan is to inspire the next wave of online publishers. They will train students as part of their ‘Google for Publishers’ initiative.

There has been a wave of excitement among the students after hearing this news. However, there is some disappointment among few students since Google won’t be visiting their universities. Even COMSATS and NUST couldn’t make the list but you don’t need to worry at all.

You can nominate your university by filling out simple registration form, as reported by Techjuice. All you need is to enter the name of your university in the text field. If your university couldn’t make the list then select ‘other’ in the given dropdown of university in the form. Upon selecting ‘other’, you will be given a separate text field when can nominate the name of your university.

It is pertinent to mention that Google will consider your application only if a handful of requests are received for a particular institution.

Details of the program

During the visit, Google will be visiting 9 Pakistani universities across 5 different cities including Karachi and Lahore. They will kick off their campaign from 30th August when they will visit Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi. Four respectable speakers would be flying from Singapore to train the students.

The program is ideal for writers, bloggers, web designers and app developers. The mission of ‘Google for Publishers’ initiative is to give training to students about Google’s products namely AdSense and AdMob. Moreover, the training session will teach students about developing and monetizing content for websites and mobile apps.

If your university in not the list and if you want Google to pay a visit to your institute then you need to fill this form and ask your friends too to do the same.
