Microsoft Paint has been a part of our childhood. Back in those days, when internet was a term known to only some people, drawing random pictures and shapes on MS Paint was the ultimate time pass for children. To this day, Microsoft Paint still assists users with their small tasks of editing and painting. However, Microsoft is now deciding to permanently discontinue the app i.e. Microsoft Paint.
Different sources have confirmed that the Microsoft Paint app, which came with all versions of windows as a pre-installed app is being ruled out. Currently, no development work is being done on Paint and sooner or later, Paint will be removed once and for all. With Microsoft’s new update, many new features will be coming. However, many features will be going as well.

Recently, Microsoft released a document which consists of a list of all the programs and features that will be removed as part of the new update. Sadly, Paint was also mentioned in the list which confirms that the new update will surely remove paint from Windows. In the document, Microsoft stated:
“The following features and functionalities in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update are either removed from the product in the current release (‘Removed’) or are not in active development and might be removed in future releases (‘Deprecated’). This list is intended to help customers consider these removals and deprecations for their own planning”
Paint 3D to replace Microsoft Paint
Previously in April 2017, Microsoft added a new paint program to Windows with the name of Paint 3D. However, this program ran alongside with the basic paint application instead of replacing it. As of now, Paint 3D will actually replace the Microsoft Paint app. As compared to the normal paint app, the Paint 3D app came with a number of new and advanced features such as advanced selections tools based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning Algorithms.
Sadly, Paint will be removed from Windows and users will have to depend on a whole new app for their basic edits and paintings. In other words, users will have to learn to work on a new app to get things done. Let’s hope that Paint 3D delivers everything we used to have in the basic MS Paint.
