DO NOT Take Admission In The Following Programs In These 18 Universities, Government Warns

The Higher Education Department (HED) has barred the students from taking admission in unapproved and unaccredited programs offered by 18 universities.

According to a recent report from The News, HED has strictly directed as mush as 18 universities to stop granting admission in the unapproved categories. The ban has been imposed because some of the universities have failed to comply with the necessary requirements. HED discovered that these universities are operating sub-campuses besides offering programs without taking any approval from the concerned authorities.

All the 18 universities have been asked to fulfill the necessary requirements to get their unapproved programs registered before 26th September 2017.

Following are some of the universities along with the unapproved programs they have been offering to the students:

University of Management & Technology (UMT), Lahore

University of Central Punjab (UCP)

University of Faisalabad

Global Institute

National College of Business Administration & Economics

HITEC University, Taxila

Imperial College of Business Studies

Hajvery University

University of Wah, Wah Cantt

Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan

University of Lahore

Superior Colleges

NUR International University, Lahore

University of South Asia, Lahore

Minhaj University, Lahore

Lahore Leads University

Beaconhouse National University (BNU)

Lahore Garrison University (LGU)

The Additional Secretary (Academics) of HED, Dr. Shoaib stated that students have suffered a lot in the past because of getting themselves enrolled in the unauthorized and illegal degree programs. Therefor the current move is aimed to protect them from taking admissions in such programs until the universities meet the program approval requirements completely.
