As per the report of China’s Xinhua news agency, China has donated 330 pieces of office equipment to the Parliament of Pakistan. The equipment comprises of computers, laptops, printers, projectors and scanners.

Objective of the donation
On Thursday, the handover ceremony took place at the parliament. The document was signed between Senate Secretary Amjed Pervez Malik and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong.
Upon receiving the donation from China, the Chairman of Senate Mian Raza Rabbani acknowledged the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan. He said that the office equipment will help the parliament of Pakistan in improving their working conditions. Moreover, he also stated that this donation is a token of friendship between the two countries.

While airing his thoughts, Sun Weidong said that improved bilateral exchanges between China and Pakistan are of great significance. Consequently, it will help in strengthening the reciprocally beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Ultimately, it will stimulate the mutual policy coordination and people-to-people exchanges.
In the end, Sun Weidong hoped that both China and Pakistan will continue to make combined efforts, particularly in connection with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The notion is that the people of both sides should benefit from the dual effort.
It is relevant to mention here that the ceremony conducted has been part of farewell meetings by the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong.
In addition to handing over the office equipment to the Parliamentary office, Mr. Weidong also paid a farewell call on Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly in Parliament House, on the same day.
Speaking at the occasion, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq thoroughly appreciated the outgoing Ambassador’s role in further building of relationship between Pakistan and China. He also said:
“Pak-China strategic partnership is highly essential for peace and development in the region and beyond”
