Jazz And Warid Keep The Lion’s Share As 3G And 4G Users In Pakistan Continue To Increase

According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), there has been a substantial increment in the number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan. At the end of July 2017, the number of 3G and 4G users had been recorded at 42.998 million. However, in only a month’s time by the end of August 2017, the number has surged to 44.49 million.

As far as the mobile users in the country are concerned, the number of users documented at the end of July 2017, was 139.781 million. However, the number has also climbed up by 189,008 to reach 139.97 million by the end of August 2017.

Comparative Ratios

In terms of comparison, there is an interesting observation available for the market share maintained by each telecom operator. The most significant rise in 3G subscriptions has been for Jazz and Warid 3G with a rise of 4.5% rise. Their 4G user base also increased by an impressive 22%. Zong’s user base of 3G subscribers increased by a slim 0.9%, whereas the 4G subscribers increased by 3.4%. With a negligible 3G subscription rise, Telenor managed to pull a noticeable 14% increase in its 4G subscriptions. Ufone, currently the only cellular operator not providing 4G services, managed to grab a 2.8% rise in its 3G subscriptions.
