How do I know if my MacBook Pro qualifies?
The latest Apple’s policy is only for specific machines. It does not include 13-inch MacBook Pro, 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Air. Moreover, the free services offer is not valid for the machines without retina displays.
In order to know whether your MacBook Pro qualifies for the battery service, all you need to do is to tap on the Apple logo in the menu bar. Thereafter, click on About This Mac > System Report > Power. If the message appears ‘Service Battery’ in the Health Information Section, then your battery needs servicing.

It is pertinent to note that Apple will offer battery service to consumer grade, failed or swollen batteries.
