China keen to setup automobile manufacturing unit in Pakistan

The Chinese representatives have expressed their strong desire to setup automobile manufacturing unit in Punjab.

Provincial Minister for Labor and Human Resource, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar is confident about the foreign investment opportunities in Punjab. He stated that:

“The atmosphere is now conducive for investment and trade in Punjab by foreign investors in all development sectors where they will be provided fool-proof security”

A six-member delegation of Chinese investors and industrialists is currently in Pakistan to discuss bilateral interests between the two countries. The delegation is headed by the director of famous automobile manufacturer JAC Motors, Chen Zhi Qiang.

A meeting was held between the representatives of Chinese delegation and Pakistan where several key matters were discussed. China also voiced their wish to setup automobile manufacturing unit in Punjab along with mutual promotion in different sectors.

These sectors include infrastructure development, agriculture, livestock, energy, automobile and trade.

Heaps of opportunities for foreign investment in Pakistan

According to the minister, there are number of industrial zones that have been setup in the province by Punjab government. The zones are tax-exempted to stimulate foreign investment (particularly Chinese investment) in the region. He has also welcomed the proposal for the setup of automobile manufacturing unit.

The minister also added that both Pakistan and China have tremendous opportunity to grow in terms of business, economic and industries under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar also said that CPEC would provide ample employment opportunities to the youth of Punjab. He further added that government had already drafted a plan of action for teaching latest skills training to approximately 2 million youth.

Chinese government has also played a significant role in eradicating power crisis from Pakistan. In addition, they also cooperated in mega projects of infrastructure development.
