Pakistan has ample amount of talent. It just needs nourishment and refinement. There is one such genius, Shahmeer Chaudhry, who has recently developed and launched a horror game for PC.
The newly built and Shahmeer’s first away from mobile, is a horror game for PC. The name of the game is Apartment 666 which shows the user getting stuck in a perpetual cycle of loops. The game’s description reads:
“One day you wake up and realize that nobody is home. You try to exit the apartment only to wake up again in your room. You are stuck in an endless cycle of loops with only one way out”
Shahmeer Chaudhry: The Sensation
17-year old prodigy is a game developer from Pakistan. At the tender age of just 17, his games on Google Play Store have already managed to garner over a million downloads.
In an interview to Express Tribune, he stated:
“I started developing games in 2013 at the age of 14. I made my first game just two months after learning programming”
According to the prodigy, he has learnt plenty of stuff from YouTube. He is a quick-learner, sharp and self-taught.
In addition, Shahmeer’s work has also been recognized by tech giant Microsoft. He said:
“After a year of development, Microsoft contacted me and gave me a Windows Phone along with access to other software material to develop games”
Shahmeer formed INeedPlay and released his first game called ‘The Lost Town.’ Besides the artwork, he did all the programming and publishing by himself. Some of his games have had more than 50,000 downloads. One of his games, ‘7 night at Buddy’ have almost 0.5 million downloads.
Apartment 666 for Steam
In 2015, Shahmeer worked day in and day out on the concept of a horror game ‘Apartment 666.’ His game was accepted by the global game distributor, Steam.
Earlier this month, the game was finally launched on Steam. It is currently available for $2.99. It has already been covered by some popular gaming streamers.
17-year old Shahmeer Chaudhry also gave a piece of advice to everyone. He said:
“Never stop in doing what you love. A lot of people told me that I was too ambitious and a lot of people told me to stop. Yet, I kept going on and have made it so far”
