Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) has announced some changes to its leadership panel for the 2016-2017 period. The changes that P@SHA made include new chairman, central executive committee, president and other key office staff. Additionally, P@SHA also introduced few fresh alterations in the legal status of NEST I/O, the business incubator.
Changes in the management of P@SHA
According to the details during the meeting P@SHA management in Karachi, the CEO and President of InfoTech Mr. Naseer A Akhtar is named the new Chairman of P@SHA.
As far as the presidency is concerned, no changes were made as Jehan Ara will continue to perform her duties as the president. However, she stepped down from the position of secretary general. The position is now vacant and it will be filled by someone from Islamabad Secretariat. The incumbent will go through a thorough and rigorous selection process to be considered for the key position.
In addition to the aforementioned changes, Karachi Secretariat of P@SHA is also losing its central secretariat status. The secretariat of Karachi will now work as a regional secretariat. As a result, its central status is now moved to Islamabad Secretariat.
Changes to NEST I/O
P@SHA also declared some changes to the legal structure of their incubation center i.e. NEST I/O. According to the details, it is now a separate legal entity. Moreover, Jehan Ara is appointed as the CEO of the incubation center. It is pertinent to mention that even though NEST I/O will continue to remain as P@SHA’s project, but it will now enjoy more luxury in terms of taking key strategic and managerial decisions.
The resolution to separate NEST I/O was unanimously given a go ahead by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of P@SHA at the general meeting which took place recently.
It is worth mentioning that P@SHA’s CEC consists of 10 members. They are elected by member of the companies that are already registered with the association. CEC now has the liberty of 1 year to elect Chairman, President and Vice Chairman.
Do you think these changes will influence P@SHA in the next one year?
