Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), in its latest announcement has decided to take bids for technology related work only from companies which are registered with Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA).
The decision was taken at PITB’s 2nd round table conference which recently got concluded where a new IT policy was put forth for the province of Punjab for ideas, suggestions and feedback.
The round table conference was chaired by the Chairman of PITB, Dr. Umar Saif. While addressing the audience of more than 120 technology experts from Punjab and across Pakistan, he stressed on the importance of registering their companies with P@SHA to apply for the bids. The core reason of this exercise is that the information of the particular company after registering with P@SHA is readily available on the internet. Moreover, it also gives an indirect message that the organization is vouched.
Benefits of registering with P@SHA
Umar Saif further stated that it is a two-way road which will assist companies in organizing themselves before applying for the bid. In addition, this move will also help P@SHA in keeping their record updated since the current data is decayed.
A company which will submit a bid to PITB will have its record checked at first. It means that after receiving a bid from a certain company, PITB will check its details from the website of P@SHA.
Another key topic which was discussed at the round table conference was when PITB made announcement to conduct IT census across Pakistan. The step will prove to be a stepping stone for familiarizing reforms in the business, entrepreneurship, startup and technology industry.
