There have been number of reports from all across the globe about Galaxy Note 7 explosions. This time it is no different as a man from Winnipeg (capital of Manitoba in Canada) has questioned Samsung after Galaxy S7 bursts in his hand. The guy, Amarjit Mann who is aged 34, had to rush to the hospital soon after the incident.
According to the affected user, he was driving on Sunday morning when he started to feel some kind of heat in his pocket. To add to the misery, it was his Samsung Galaxy S7 which he took out immediately. As soon as he pulled his smartphone out of his pocket, it was exploded which caused him second and third-degree burns on his hands and wrists respectively.
While talking and airing his comments to CTV Winnipeg, Amarjit thanked God that the phone was nowhere close to his ears or face. He stated:
“This is a nightmare for me; I’ve never seen anything like this. I should’ve lost my eyes, or my cheeks or anything could have happened”
Amarjit Mann instantly threw the device out of the car window which he believes helped in containing the damage to himself and his car. He said:
“I luckily threw it outside. It should have damaged my whole car. I just saw smoke and nothing else”
Unfortunately for the Canadian, he cannot continue working as a mechanic for as long as 4 weeks. Doctors have prescribed him to take rest for at least a month before resuming his job.
Samsung’s stance
Amid all this fiasco, Samsung Canada has refrained from commenting on the incident. According to a spokesperson, they will inquire the device of Amarjit before making any statement. A spokesman of Samsung Canada wrote to CTV News read as:
“Customer safety remains our highest priority and we remain committed to working with any customer who has experienced an issue with a Samsung product”
Amarjit will return the device in the explosive state to Samsung. It remains to be seen whether they will replace his device with another or refund him full amount.
It is pertinent to mention that due to the recalling of Galaxy Note 7 after reports of combusting batteries, Samsung offered 2 smartphones as its replacement. Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of them.
Samsung recalled its Galaxy Note 7 devices in September and ceased its production.
