Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its 2013-14 annual report on performance and quality metrics of the Telecom sector in Pakistan. According to the report, there are 137 million mobile, 5.71 million local loop (including FLL, WLL) and 3.7 million broadband subscribers in Pakistan. Out of these users, PTA received only 36,092 complaints regarding quality, services and disruptions. The complaint rate is negligible keeping in view the size of the user-base in Pakistan.
The rising competition between the telecom companies in Pakistan is benefiting the customers massively. The quality graph is elevating as the companies cannot afford to lose their customers.
PTA’s annual report ranks Warid Telecom as the top company in Pakistan in terms of quality. More than 88% of Warid customers are satisfied with its services. No other telecom company came even close to this metric. Similarly, the report says that Warid Telecom has the best Quality ‘Call Completion Ratio’ (98%). The highest accomplishment mark for Call Completion Ratio set by PTA is 99%. Telenor, Ufone, Zong, Mobilink were not able to achieve the required percentage of this important quality metric.
Warid also scored an impressive 3.9 score in Call Quality (MOS 3) metric. This is the highest score achieved by any telecom company in Pakistan.
PTA report depicts that Warid Telecom is quashing its competitors and beating them with huge margins. The Abu Dhabi-based mobile telecommunication has huge prospects and stakes in the Pakistani market in the coming future.
