Startup Weekend is an international organization comprised of professionals and enthusiastic entrepreneurs who are striving to learn the mechanics of setting up a startup. The outreach of this community is massive with more than 210,000 entrepreneurs conducting above 1800 events in 120 countries globally as of 2014. The growth trajectory is impressive as Startup Weekend has made inroads in 135 countries as of July this 2016.
The uniqueness of this workshop is that it helps participants learn how to create real company in just 54 hours. During the three day period, you will experience a roller coaster ride with highs, lows, pressure and fun that makes a startup life interesting. In addition, you will also meet high profile company heads, mentors, seasoned professionals, investors, and sponsors which will bring their input to polish your idea.
During the entire session, many like-minded individuals with a passion to innovate come together including designers, marketers, product managers, developers and others who share ideas, build teams and launch a company.
Startup Weekend Karachi 2016
Startup Weekend Karachi is here to bring a stir in the city for the fourth time with Aplos Innovations and SEED ventures being the lead organizers. The event will be held during from 28th to 30th October 2016. Startup Weekend Karachi has given some great ideas in the past. Subsequently, one of the ideas last year, Aerosync managed to raise $4 million funding from SEEDS venture in July 2016.
The ideology of global Startup Weekend will be followed here comprising of 150 passionate participants. It will bring their experience and talent to churn out an innovative business venture.
During the first day, the participants will meet new people, choose the project they will be working on and finally team up. The first day will be followed by a theme dinner. The second day will be dedicated to learning and making the product with the help of mentors and coaches. This day will end with a social night. The final day is assigned to presenting your business idea and product in just five minutes in front of a panel of judges which will be followed by a theme dinner as well.
Don’t have an idea…don’t worry you can still participate
Let us clarify the confusion that people without an idea have nothing for them. In fact, Startup Weekend is providing a great platform and environment for people who want to do something but are unclear about which path to choose. You can still come and experience the ride, listen to the ideas and find out what’s in there for you.
Moreover, you can also become a team member and work as a developer, designer, or marketer. The concept behind the exercise is to give you the real feel of creating something from scratch besides learning the entrepreneurial spirit.

Registration process and selection criteria
The registration process is simple with three easy steps: fill in the form, pay the fee after getting a confirmation email and send a copy of your paid bank draft to get the ticket. Once you fill out the form, you will get a confirmation email during the second week of October.
Your registration forms will be evaluated by a team of Startup Weekend Karachi.

3) Industry of the idea

1) Years of experience
2) Expertise area: designing, development or entrepreneurship
