The Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) is named among the top 10 universities in the developing countries. Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Rana Tanveer Hussain chaired a meeting with a delegation from CIIT. The meeting was headed by Rector Junaid Zaidi, according to a press release on Monday.
The rector informed the minister that presently CIIT had managed to be among the top 10 universities among developing countries.
Junaid Zaidi also discussed several important issues with the federal minister. The rector asked for the support from the ministry of science and technology to improve the education standard in Pakistan. He specifically emphasized on improving the field of science and technology.
During the meeting, the rector further asked the CIIT delegation to take necessary measures for improving the overall ranking of the institute.
CIIT among top 500 universities
Rana Tanveer, who is also the chancellor of the institute, aims to see CIIT among the top 500 universities in the world. He stated:
“My vision as the chancellor of the CIIT is to make it one of the top 500 universities in the world”
A thorough review of Comsats Institute since its commencement was presented to the federal minister. On the basis of performance indicators, a satisfactory report was given.
