How to Identify Your iPhone Model And It’s Country Of Origin

How to Identify Your iPhone Model And It’s Country Of OriginHow to Identify Your iPhone Model And It’s Country Of Origin

Have you been using your iPhone without knowing its model numbers and its country of origin? The process to discover this information is quite easy! This article will not only exhibit how you can find out the model of your iPhone. In addition, you will also be able to discover the country of origin of your iPhone, and its SIM capabilities. Let’s start then!

How to find the model number of iPhone?

It is pretty simple. To track your device’s model number, go through the following steps:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap General
  • Go to About

Once you are on this page, you will see the part number right next to the Model Number. Upon tapping the part number, you will see the model number.

Literally, it is that simple.

But you don’t even need to switch the device on. If you want to look for a model number on your iOS device, then there is another way to do it:

  • On iPhone 8 or later: You need to remove the SIM tray to find out the model number. Once you remove the tray, look for the number in the SIM tray slot. It is probably a good idea to use the bright light while looking for the number. The model number can be found out on the upper side of the slot – the one with the display.

  • On iPhone 7 or earlier: It’s even simpler here. You can discover the model number on the back of your iPhone device:

This procedure is very simple as well.

I’ve looked at a dozen iPhones from 6s to 11. They all say LL, and I know they weren’t made in America

    • Zubair Ahmed

      18/05/2020 at 9:24 pm

Well, that’s your own judgement Dee Dee. But this is what Apple also says so [whatever is mentioned in the article]

    • Anonymous

      12/11/2020 at 9:24 am

Your totally right dee dee THEY ARE NOT MADE THERE just programmed for release in America
Same as X represents Australian release
One easy way to find out if a iPhone was released in your country is to download the apple support APP and it will tell you if you have the device that is from the country or another
That’s how I first found out and then had to ring apple to ask if I can still get repairs done to my phone even though I’m in Australia and my phone was sold in America
As apple said YES AS LONG AS I CAN PROVE WITH RECEIPT THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM AN AUSTRALIAN COMPAY

They say assembled in China on the back. So the code shown in the general about setting is not COO….more like the region code of where it is used.

So ifyou have ZD are you saying the iPhone was made in the Luxembourg,Austria,Belgium,Monaco,Germany,France,Netherlands,Switzerland.
But how can i find my country?

    • Zubair Ahmed

      22/05/2020 at 5:41 pm

      A very good question!

You can check it here: http://iphonefrom.com/

Moreover, if your iPhone model is ZD, it will largely depend from which Apple store among those countries you got your device from. That would answer your question.

Origin means where the phone was originally delivered for selling . That doesn’t mean it is made in the said country. Like my iPhone X it’s the stocks of Philippine Apple Store but it doesn’t mean it is also made in Philippines ???? On the BOX it tells made in CHINA.

Geez, people. Took me less than 5 seconds to type in ‘hn country….’ and then ‘iPhone’ auto filled. I hit enter and it says ‘India’.

And others here are correct: the country code tells you where it was made for, not where it was made.
