‘Whisper O’ and ‘Micropower Labs’ are the two Pakistani startups that will be participating in OSLO startup challenge. Both these startups are cultivated at Samsung’s ‘NEST I/O’ – a technology incubator which was established in collaboration between Samsung and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA).
It will be a completely paid trip for the two startups where they will participate in Norway’s global program, OSLO startup challenge. The duration of the program will be one month. Teams will be able to enjoy the luxuries of free-of-cost incubation program where they will avail the opportunity to secure funds and supports from the Norwegian government.
Besides getting selected for the OSLO startup challenge, Micropower Labs is also selected for ‘Amazon Launchpad’. The startup’s product ‘Flash Pack’ will be made available in a special category of startups on Amazon.
While commenting on the prospect, the President of Samsung Electronics Pakistan (SEPAK), Mr. J. H. Lee stated:
“It is delightful to see that the innovative ideas and products developed by Pakistani start-ups are being recognized and supported on international technology platforms like the Oslo Startup Challenge. Samsung’s support to ‘The Nest’ is a part of its social-development programme”
The president further added:
“Our CSR initiative named – ‘SEPAK Citizenship’, is designed to nurture the capabilities of the youth and empower them to get professional, academic and entrepreneurial enrichments”
