Aima Baig to Sizzle up Thanda Mausam with 7up Bonfire Night

Just in time for winter, 7Up and Aima Baig are teaming up for a catchy tune, one that might be the “it” song of the season.

Called “The Bonfire Song,” Aima Baig lends her velvety smooth vocal talent to the tune, which can be seen here. The song – an original work composed by Jamayal Tanweer and written exclusively for 7Up by Moiz Khan – might be as catchy as the 7Up jingle itself.

The video showcases younger Pakistanis sitting around a bonfire as Aima Baig sings and plays her guitar. The young adults are seen in ideal scenes, laughing and socializing all while drinking 7Up and eating some incredibly good-looking food. It seems the beverage company attempts to connect great food with their beverage, as if to say that 7Up and BBQ go together.

The song provides a perfect insight into what Pakistanis love to do: enjoying bonfires on a cold winter’s night. In fact, this tune represents the first beverage brand to tap celebrating winter for their advertising campaign.

The singer of this catchy tune is Aima Baig, an artist who remembers singing as a 7-year-old. The singer may be best known for her Summer Wine cover, meaning Aima Baig may be a perfect fit for reaching the younger demographic 7Up is targeting with the video and song.

In an interview with HIP, Aima Baig explained how the video was produced. “The entire song has been done in one night and it reminded me of my university days when [friends] we used to meet-up at each other’s and enjoy the thanda mausam,” she said.

Baig’s older sister – who doubles as her manager – explained what 7Up was looking for and how Aima met those needs. “7Up was looking for young artists for their winter theme and they called Aima for it after listening to her songs. She didn’t have to go through any auditions and was signed right away,” KomalBaig said, adding the shoot was done at Beaconhouse National University’s Tarogil Campus in Lahore.

Aima Baig followed in her father’s footsteps, going from small street corner performances to quaint college functions. Her first big break came while in college when she meet music composer Khawar Jawad.

At the time, Jawad was working on the musical composition for the blockbuster film Khuda Ke Liya. Aima Baig said that Khawar did not tell her what the songs she recorded with the composer were for until after the recording.

The beverage is not only using the video to connect with their target audience. Using an exciting contest with a bounty of giveways, 7Up is crafting a strong campaign and employing the hashtag #7UpWinters to help their market identify and connect with their brand.
