The daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz appeared in front of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) yesterday. The reason of her visit to Federal Judiciary Academy for the same was that she was called upon to answer the questions over Panama Leaks. However, certain eyebrows have been raised as she arrived at the spot yesterday in one of his family-owned BMWs. Upon the research, it was revealed that she drove to the academy using an illegal number plate.
Number plate belonged to a motorbike owner
It is relevant to state that the number plate of the car in which Maryam Nawaz traveled to the academy was SN-777. However, upon further investigation, it was discovered that the said number plate actually belonged to Muhammed Daud and the nature of his ride is motorcycle.
As if it was not enough. There are quite a few journalists who have publicized that the number plate belonged to a stolen motorbike.
Following results came out when the number plate of Maryam Nawaz’s car was given a rapid search at Islamabad Excise Department website:
As you can see, the owner of registration number SN-777 is Muhammed Daud and he has been assigned Honda 125CC motorbike. The model of the bike in 2010.
Maryam Nawaz came to the academy along with a convoy of 12 cars. Her husband Capt (Rtd) Muhammed Safdar, and her brothers Hussain and Hassan Nawaz were also escorted in the same convoy.
Other cars in the convoy also used bogus number plates
There was another BMW from the same convoy which had a registration number of BC-348. Upon the search, it was found out that the registration number belongs to Faysal Bank and it’s a leased Honda Civic from 2014.
Another car from the convoy, Land Cruiser, bearing a registration number of CS-787 was also searched upon and it belongs to Imran Maqbool and the vehicle assigned is Toyota Axio 2007.
Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb had confirmed that Maryam Nawaz was escorted to the academy in vehicles which are owned and used by the Sharif family.
Only time will tell if any official investigation will be conducted for using fake or illegal number plates.
