Apple Introduces Special RED Edition of iPhone 7 And 7 Plus

Apple has unveiled a new color choice for its iPhone 7 edition: red. While the world’s top smartphone vendor has previously launched special red product cases for the iPhone, this is however the first time the actual iPhone is available in striking red finish. The red aluminum iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be launching worldwide as part of Apple’s partnership with (RED), adding some welcome color to the black and plainer metallic colours we’ve seen thus far.

“The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands,”

– Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc.

HIV/AIDS has been around for more than 35 years. Since its discovery during the mid 1980s, HIV and AIDS have killed more than 35 million people. Furthermore, over 37 million people are living with HIV, and mothers continue to pass the virus in startling numbers to their infants.

Apple’s collaboration with (RED) involves promoting the AIDS fundraising campaign with red-featured designs for products and apps. And lately, Apple has turned its App Store and associated top apps the color red for the international AIDS day. Moreover, the company has supported AIDS fundraising Product RED for the last 10 years. In total, the company has contributed nearly $130 million in corporate donations to support global efforts against HIV and AIDS.

Apple’s most recent color change to its iPhone series involved a new glossy jet black finish for the iPhone 7 and the rose gold option for the iPhone 6S. The new red option is believed to be the most captivating of all the colors available for the iPhone’s latest lineup. The red-finished phone will be available in both versions – 4.7 inched iPhone 7 & the 5.5 inched iPhone 7 Plus – on Friday, March 24th in 128-GB and 256-GB models starting at $749.
