For the first time ever, the public charging station for electric cars and plug-in vehicles is installed in Pakistan. Dewan Motors had the honors of inaugurating Pakistan’s first public charging station. A ceremony was held in Emporium Mall, Lahore to mark the finest occasion where BMW ChargeNow station is now available.
The charging station is going to be the first of its kind in Pakistan, or for that matter, in the whole Middle East and Pakistan region. While speaking on the occasion, Managing Director of BMW Group Middle East, Mr. Johannes Seibert stated:
“Today is an important milestone for the BMW Group: not only does it mark the inauguration of the first public BMW charging station in Pakistan but also the first in the entire region. We call this service BMW ChargeNow”
He also appreciated the efforts of Dewan Motors by stating:
“Dewan Motors’ investment in this technology is a significant step in supporting the BMW Group’s vision to offer Electro mobility internationally, and in providing easy access to charging stations for customers of our plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles”
It is projected that 605 of the world’s population will live in the cities by 2030. As a result, BMW Group offers innovate and creative services and solution to enhance the urban mobility.
Dewan Motors also grabbed the opportunity with both hands by installing a BMW ChargeNow station in Pakistan. The company believes that the growth potential of plug-in hybrid and electric cars in Pakistan is immense. Subsequently, they took the bold step towards electric mobility by keeping in mind the entire value chain.
Chairman of Dewan Motors, Mr. Dewan Mohammad Yousuf Farooqui said:
“The latest BMW plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles offer even greater mobility than conventional Hybrid vehicles making it possible to have everyday motoring purely on electric mode with practically little to no requirement for fossil fuels”
Moreover, he commented:
“Not only does this result in minimum to zero emissions; but also tremendous fuel savings. This as you know sir, has a direct and very positive impact on foreign exchange reserves of the country”
