CNIC re-verification drive gets kicked off across Pakistan

The re-verification drive of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of 180 million Pakistanis has started across the country yesterday. Primarily, the objective of this exercise is to re-verify the people of Pakistan. Moreover, this drive will also expose all the extraterrestrials from the country.

There has been massive development in the re-verification process since the start of the last month. Interior Minister of Pakistan, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, gave 2 days deadline early on to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to provide a roadmap for each and every Pakistani to get verified.

Chaudhry Nisar later announced 7 years imprisonment for individuals for fake CNIC holders in the country. He also publicized up to 14 years of jail to those officials who will be involved in issuing those fake CNICs to the aliens.

The drive was supposed to be started from 1st July 2016 and surprisingly there was no delay. This speaks volume about the seriousness of this exercise. Moreover, the procedure of CNICs was also explained in our previous article.

Chaudhry Nisar was informed that NADRA has established the needed helpline capable of handling 10,000 calls per day and a gateway of 150,000 SMS per day to assist general public who would report suspected CNICs issued to strangers.

The authorities have made all the necessary arrangements to carry out and execute re-verification process smoothly. They also made sure to utilize all of its resources to achieve the desired objective of removing aliens from Authority’s database within the given timeline.

Media strategy was also approved for raising the awareness of the general masses.

You can also send your or even your father’s (head of the family) CNIC number to 8008 and in return you will get the list of all the family members within the tree of your family. If the list (that you receive in return) satisfies you, reply to the message with 2. If the list has any name that doesn’t belong to your family, report it immediately to NADRA by replying to the message with 1.

Furthermore, Chaudhry Nisar also announced Rs. 10,000/- reward for anyone who will report or provide information regarding any stranger/foreigner who carries fake CNIC or passport of Pakistan origin.
