Court Notices Defamation Suit: Ejad Labs CEO Seeks Rs 1.75 Billion in Damages from P@SHA Chairman Over False Claims

LAHORE: A sessions court has issued a notice regarding a defamation suit filed by the CEO of Ejad Labs against the Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) Zohaib Khan.

Defendant Zohaib Khan accused the CEO of using the name and logo of the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh. He then publicized and propagated these claims on social media and reported them to various regulatory authorities.

The complainant argued that the defendant’s claim was quite contrary to the facts. Such allegations gave a negative impression in the business community, resulting in significant financial loss and mental distress to him, the complainant added. He mentioned that a legal notice was served to the defendant, but he did not bother to respond to it.

The complainant, therefore, requested the court to award damages worth 1.75 billion rupees in his favor. After hearing the complainant’s counsel in detail, the court issued a notice to the defendant.
