In an age where social media communications have come to be dominated by stickers and memes, Holla decided to jump onto the bandwagon. With Holla, you can reply to text message via a cool sticker of your choice.
If you are getting bored of your chats, try bringing some fun to it with Holla. It gives you free audio stickers for WhatsApp, Facebook, Viber, Instagram, Slack and Skype.
Sending someone an evil laugh or a giggle as a reply makes the chat more interesting. You can invite your friends to join the app too.
However, the app is still an infant and has a long way to go. It should allow social logins to begin with, because users won’t waste time registering with name and age fields. There should be a one-click registration solution.
What makes the app unique is its list of audio stickers that can easily be shared on various social platforms with one click. However, instead of making the user open the app and share it on Skype or WhatsApp, Holla should automatically integrate with these apps and allow the users to share the funny audio stickers from within WhatsApp, Skype or Facebook Messenger.
Also, the app still looks in beta stage as many of the audio stickers are repeating one after the other. It’s also not very clear how to invite your friends to this app and there’s no option to invite your social media friends. Once you dig in further, you realize that you can only invite your friends by their number.
Holla has received 500 downloads as of yet and has a rating of 4.4 on the Google Play Store. Perhaps, it is much like Yahoo Messenger and those who are started using it in its early days, will feel very nostalgic when using Holla. The app intends to be global and target people worldwide. However, whether the app can survive amidst a plethora of such services is still doubtful.
