Google honors Abdul Sattar Edhi with homage

Pakistan’s greatest and one of the world’s finest Philanthropists, Abdul Sattar Edhi, is honored with a tribute from Google following his death on Friday night.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was born in 1928. Since 2013, he was suffering from kidney failure and after being admitted in the hospital for almost over a month, he perished on Friday night when Pakistan was celebrating the 3rd day of Eid.

As soon as the news broke, the celebrations turned into mourning as Pakistan lost her greatest servant in the form of Abdul Sattar Edhi who died at the age of 88. He spent most of live in serving humanity as he was the founder of one of the world’s largest ambulance service Edhi.

Subsequently, there were messages from Pakistan as well as from all across the world for one of the greatest humanitarian, Abdul Sattar Edhi. As a result, world’s most visited website and tech giant, Google, also paid homage to the Pakistan’s greatest philanthropist on Google Pakistan’s homepage.

Upon clicking it, you will be redirected to another page where top and latest information related to Abdul Sattar Edhi will be available. Moreover, the date of birth and death of the legendary humanitarian is also mentioned beside Edhi’s name.

When it comes to remembering occasions and paying homages, Google is very selective and choosy. The last time a Pakistani recognized was on 13th October 2015 when Google acknowledged (late) Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on his birthday with a doodle.

It is pertinent to mention that Abdul Sattar Edhi was an International figure and his extraordinary and unparalleled work and services were acknowledged all across the world. He got plenty of awards for his unconditional efforts in serving humanity. Following his death, plenty of messages poured in for Abdul Sattar Edhi from actors, politicians and cricketers etc. His death also warranted a tribute from world’s most-visited website i.e. Google.
