iPhone 8: What We Know about Apple’s next Big Product

It’s been few months since Apple released iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but many people are already making speculations about the next model. Apple is expected to release new iPhone 8 model next year. The company will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its flagship smartphone in 2017. The people could expect a whole new iPhone device that no one has ever seen or heard of before.

The 2017 OLED iPhone:

Reports over the past several weeks have indicated that the new iPhone is likely to come up with an OLED display. Apple has taken the iPhone LCD display as far as it can go. Now the company really needs to introduce OLED displays in their next model iPhones in order to stay at the top edge of smartphone innovation. However, the LCD on iPhone 7 Plus is the best Apple LCD yet, with the most accurate color display.
Recent reports have shown that iPhone 8 will have OLED display with glass curves over the edges and possibly the rare side and the home button may be integrated directly into the display. Though nothing can be said about the size, however, the screen display could be between 5.5 and 5.8 inches.

Apple’s competitors have already used OLED:

Apple’s closest rival, Samsung, already uses OLED displays on its Galaxy series – notably in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
Google’s new pixel mobile devices and Huawei’s P9 Plus also use OLED displays. Apple has no choice going forward but to introduce OLED displays in new phones.
“We don’t know whether Apple’s OLED iPhones will be a huge success, but if the company doesn’t walk down this way and transform itself, there will be no innovation. It is a crisis but it is also an opportunity.” Tai Jeng-wu, executive at Foxconn Technology Group, told the reporters.

OLED display advantages:

OLED advantages include very quick response time, excellent viewing angles, an all-time on display mode, as well as image variance accuracy and screen stability. The screen is much brighter and the colors are more vibrant and distinct. This display technology is definitely the wave of the future.
