“Innovation is the new face of Pakistan”, says Saad Hamid as part of PM’s delegation to World Economic Forum
Islamabad, Jan 17, 2018 – It is a proud moment for Pakistan as the Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will be attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2018 in Davos, Switzerland. Saad Hamid from the Global Shapers Islamabad Hub will also be a part of the esteemed delegation.
Pakistan’s delegation to Davos will also include representatives from the Government such as Khawaja Muhammad Asif (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Marriyum Aurangzeb (Minister of State for Information Broadcasting), Anusha Rahman Khan (Minister of State for IT) as well national leaders like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of PPP, Ali Raza Siddiqui of JS Bank and Hussain Dawood of Engro Corp.
The World Economic Forum’s 48th Annual Meeting will take place on 23-26 January 2018 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, bringing together a record number of heads of state, government and international organizations alongside leaders from business, civil society, academia, the arts and media.
Saad Hamid will be representing The Global Shapers Community which is a network of young people driving dialogue, action and change. He is the part of the Davos50, a group of remarkable individuals selected by the World Economic Forum from across 150 countries based on their achievements and contributions to share their voice and ideas with the world at WEF. He will also be speaking at the World Economic Forum 2018 in a private session title “Finding meaning in the 4th industrial revolution” where he will share his thoughts and ideas on how we need to learn digital skills to prepare our youth for the upcoming digital revolution.

The world is moving fast and it is important for us to create opportunities for our youth in innovation, entrepreneurship and skills that will help them make their mark as part of the 4th industrial revolution”, says Saad.
This year’s opening address will be delivered by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India. Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, will deliver a keynote address before the close of the meeting.
