If Lahore is hosting the PSL 2017 Final this weekend, Karachi isn’t sitting doing nothing, either! The 5th annual Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) is back in the city, Friday, March 03 – Sunday, March 05. The show will be held at the Expo Center, and will feature a wide array of automotive equipment, makes and models from local and international auto manufacturers.
The event will showcase latest innovative products, technologies, machinery and auto-equipment. Not only that the show is turning even more interactive this year, the visitors will also be able to browse among hundreds of the latest models of imported and domestic vehicles, including cars, three wheelers, motorcycles, tractors, and trucks.
The Chairman Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), Mashood Ali Khan, announced the launch of PAPS 2017 at a press conference on Wednesday in Karachi.
“Last year only six international exhibitors participated in the event, but this time the response is overwhelming. We are pleased to entertain a large complement of dignitaries from across the globe.”
The chairman further noted that a total of 85 local exhibitors, 17 sponsors, 6 universities, and 17 support organizations have been keen to be a part of the exhibition. A total of 192 exhibitors will be presenting at the show this year, as against 104 last year, he maintained.
Furthermore he stated that PAPS had been established with the motive to provide the country’s auto sector a platform to showcase its prowess and potential. He added:
“It is a three-day event with all the Auto Engineering Sectors assembled under one roof.”
PAAPAM chairman further disclosed that the government officials, local and international buyers and manufacturers, machinery makers, raw material firms and service providers are expected to attend the mega-exhibition. He expressed:
“Based on previous estimates, this year’s PAPS is expected to draw a crowd of more than 100,000 visitors from parts manufacturers, component suppliers, auto lovers and affluent automobile buyers to get a glimpse of the latest models from the world’s leading automakers in the motorcycle, three wheeler, car, tractor, trucks and buses sectors,”
Last year the event attracted 45,000 visitors and this year that number is expected to increase to around 100,000. Official data also reveals that a total of 30,000 attendees participated in the auto show in 2015, up from 25,000 a year earlier and 15,000 in 2013. Furthermore, organizers are expecting a significant increase in the number of exhibitors this year.
