Historical progress on the Navigation System

The ‘One belt, One road’ initiative has seen China expand its ambition to unify and improve the whole region. The Navigational Satellite System is a first step in creating a databank containing accurate and precise information of the underlying territory for infrastructure project evaluations.

Navigation Satellite system network will be consisting of five base stations and one processing center in Karachi. The system is now operational and will remain as a cornerstone for further expansion ambitions within the region.

The cooperation and work on the project started during Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s trip to Pakistan in May 2013. The consensus to create a higher level of strategic cooperation has now been fully realized with the first full navigational system of its kind.

UniStrongs execution efficiency

The construction manager of UniStrong, Wang Yun talking to local news outlets has been very happy with the execution of the project. Describing his tenure, Wang felt deeply grateful to Pakistani side, saying that “Both the construction and our personal safety were very well taken care of.” He added:

“What impressed me the most is that after we landed in the city, we received an immediate welcome from an etiquette officer, and we were escorted by the local armed forces once we left the airport”.

Talking about the work conditions and difficulties involved in the process Wang recalled the initial early days of the project which were extremely difficult to handle. The team in their quest to find the exact location had difficulty dealing with the lack of signals at various sites.

“Because in this arid area, there were scarcely any Internet or communication services, and there were no compatible devices for BDS, we had to keep walking to try and find a proper site.”

Once the location of the site was selected and confirmed, the whole project took only a few months for complete execution. The initial test phase of the project has run smoothly without any faults and no malfunctions have been observed.
