Pakistan Mega Leather Show 2015 is just around the corner. This show is regarded as one of the primary leather industry events that provides an opportunity to the local leather vendors and manufacturers to showcase their products to the prospective clients from Europe, US and Far East. Recently, an orientation ceremony for Pakistan Mega Leather Show was arranged in Lahore by Pakistan Leather Competitiveness Improvement Program (PLCIP).

Bernard Francois, Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the European Union (EU) addressed to the participants of the workshop and said that the latest announcement by EU giving the GSP+ status to Pakistan opens the doors for countless business opportunities to the local leather products manufacturers. Pakistani leather products are considered as the finest among many local competitors but the lack of governmental support and policies have depleted the market penetration.

Project Director of PLCIP, Usman H. Malik said that Pakistan Mega Leather Show 2015 is the golden opportunity for the Pakistani leather market. Foreign missions, venture capitalists and investors will attend the event, which depicts a great opportunity for the local leather players.

The Pakistan leather industry faced a plethora of problems in the recent past. On the other hand, regional players like India, China and Bangladesh are enjoying a surge in exports. China, India and Bangladesh have leather exports of $30 billion, $5 billion and $0.9 billion respectively whereas Pakistan stands at just $1.3 billion despite of the massive market potential.

Pakistan Mega Leather Show 2015 will start from March 6 in Lahore.
