Pakistani startup Patari bags 2nd position in Washington at World Startup Cup 2016

Pakistan’s popular music streaming startup, Patari recently grabbed 2nd position at World Startup Cup 2016. The competition was held in Washington DC from 3rd to 5th August.

Patari was among 1,000+ startups that were shortlisted after 65 national level championships to participate in the global edition. The first place in the competition was secured by a Moroccan startup, GoMobile. It gives liberty to disadvantaged people to tailor content via mobile phone. The third prize was grabbed by an Armenian startup, HY Pictures. It is a media productions company.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistani startup, Go-Fig Solutions, was the winner of first ever Startup Cup which was held couple of years ago in 2014.

What is Patari?

Patari is a Pakistani music website which boasts an impressive collection of Pakistani music from over the decades. Patari fills the gaping hole left by the industry’s inability to connect fans and bands.

The website currently claims a collection of 600 artists and 20,000 songs, which are expected to grow to 40,000 soon. The website is open for everyone to use.
