Petroleum Prices Slashed From 1st June, In Addition PSO Announces Price Reduction For Ramadan

Consumers in Pakistan may have some good news coming their way by 1st of June. According to news channel reports, a summary has been prepared by Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority – OGRA, recommending a decrease in the prices of various petroleum products. A recommendation based on the same has also been passed forward to the Ministry of Petroleum for implementation and approval.

The draft summary covers price reduction for all major petroleum products. The major recommendations in the summary include

  1. The price of petrol to be reduced by Rs. 2.10 per liter
  2. A reduction by Rs. 1.8 in the price of high speed diesel
  3. A reduction by Rs. 1.5 in the price of light speed diesel
  4. Kerosene oil price to be decreased by Rs. 3.0 per liter

The expected change in the petroleum product price is to be implemented by 1st of June 2017.

As a result of the new price recommendations, it is estimated that the domestic budgets across the country shall be favourably impacted.

In addition to this, the Pakistan State Oil PSO has announced a special discount on its Altron Premium and Altron X High Performance prices for its customers all across Pakistan, during the month of Ramadan.

The Company has announced the special prices as a greeting gesture for the holy month of Ramadan.

This basically means that if the new petroleum prices are put in effect from 1st June, customers can experience a price drop steeper than Rs2.10 per liter at the PSO outlets.
