Samsung Promises Wireless Charging Feature in Galaxy S6

Samsung is teasing its next flagship, Galaxy S6 on Twitter these days with short videos, giving an idea about some fabulous features we can expect in the much anticipated device that could land the market this summer. In a recent teaser, Samsung shows a large lightning bolt sign which is used to show mobile charging. The background voice says ‘the faster I am, the more that gets done”. That’s not all. Samsung has published a detailed blog post in which it claimed that Samsung is working on providing its users with wireless charging features in the next devices.

Samsung tapped into wireless charging domain in 2011, when it launched Droid Charge, a wireless charging mat. But so far, wireless charging space has not seen any seamless solution which could provide the users with an ease to charge their devices on the go. We have a plethora of swappable backplates and charging mats in the market, but these things haven’t been able to grab the user attention.

Samsung’s blog post almost confirms that there will be wireless charging feature in Galaxy S6, but nothing is promised. We have seen companies bragging about features to expect to create a market hype and then backing off suddenly.

Samsung is suffering in its sales and user growth. If the mobile giant succeeds in giving a seamless, clean and embedded wireless charging feature in Galaxy S6, this would be a huge game-changer for the company.
