The Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif approved the distribution of additional 150,000 laptops to the bright students of Punjab.
The minister reviewed the overall development on the procurement of 150,000 laptops initially. Later, he approved the purchase of latest and upgraded model of laptops. The machines will be dispersed strictly on the basis of merit among the talented students of Punjab.
While stating the missing, Shehbaz Sharif said:
“Empowering youth by equipping them with modern knowledge is our mission”
Shehbaz Sharif also directed all the personnel to sternly look after the procurement process. In addition, he also focused on timely deliverance of the laptops without unnecessary delays. He also emphasized on the transparency of the whole process. The minister further added:
“With the distribution of laptops, youth of the country is being harmonized with latest demands of present age. It is also helping them become aware of new inventions and changing situation throughout the world”
Furthermore, Punjab’s chief minister stated that the government of Punjab is keen to invest in developing young talents. Additionally, the government is also looking to explore new avenues by launching programs about modern knowledge. The idea is to equip youngsters with modern technology so that they can stay updated and aware about the latest happenings. The need of IT among the youth is the need of the hour. Subsequently, the government will ensure to take instant and effective steps since several IT labs worth billions of rupees have already been set up in Punjab of late.
One of the key tools to eradicate the menace of terrorism and ignorance from Pakistan is education. Chief Minister added that the government of Punjab has always taken sincere and timely efforts to promote quality education. As a result, they successfully managed to abolish the differences between the rich and the poor. It is also pertinent to mention that thousands of less fortunate students are currently enrolled in several institutions courtesy of Punjab Educational Endowment Fund.
Plenty of high dignitaries including Provincial Higher Education Minister Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Chairman, Higher Education Secretary and concerned officials attended the meeting.
