Smartphones’ blue light affects your brain and eyesight

There is this general tendency among individuals these days that nobody sleeps at night before having a crack at their smartphones for good one or two hours. Everyone is addicted to use smartphones later in the night especially in dark. According to a study, it could lead all individuals to some serious health problems.

There are cons with every advantages of a certain technology. Subsequently, smartphones have drawbacks too especially if its usage is not within the precautionary measures. Looking at your phone at night is an awful notion.

While you use smartphones at night, its screen releases bright blue light. The intensity of the light is pretty high at that time as you can see them even at the sunniest times of day. The light puzzles the brain of an individual at night as it mimics the brightness of the sun. As a result, the brain ceases the production of melatonin (a hormone that gives your body the ‘time to sleep’ signals).

Your sleep cycle can get disturbed besides making it tough for you to sleep on time. Moreover, the chances of insomnia increases too and later it could lead to potential health risks. Likewise, disturbed and unnatural sleep cycle by using smartphones at night may also lead to distracted and impaired memory the following day. A poor’s night sleep can also make it difficult to learn.

Even though more research is needed but there is enough evidence that indicates that bright blue light could also damage the vision by damaging the retina over the course of time. There is plenty of research about whether blue light could lead to Cataracts.

Researchers also proclaimed that there is a strong link between disturbed sleep due to exposure to light at night and an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer.

People who regularly use their smartphones at night before going to bed are at a risk of developing neurotoxins due to a lack of sleep. Furthermore, people who have low melatonin levels due to using smartphones at night are also more likely to get exposed to depression. It could also lead to hormone imbalances, increasing the risk of obesity.
