New Zealand Cricket’s former captain Stephen Fleming and current captain, the swashbuckling Brendon McCullum have taken a step forward to launch the digital cricket portal and scoring system, CricHQ. The online platform aims to compete with the other popular cricket portals like ESPN Cricinfo and STARsports. Unlike its rivals CricHQ is created with the intent to help all stakeholders in the game be it players, administrators, coaches, or stats-hungry spectators and fans.

The digital platform will work closely with cricket associations across the world to transform the data collection process which is rather paper-intensive currently. This would help provide real time statistics, live scores online and detailed analytics which will help coaches and administrators devise better strategies and game plans real time.

While Fleming is the Co-founder and Director of this venture, McCullum is a key stakeholder. The company recently raised a funding of US$10 million from the Singapore based Tembusu Partners. The company aims to utilize this money to invest in technology to add new features and strengthen its operations globally with a special focus on the cricket crazy Asian sub-continent.

One of the major USP of CricHQ over its competitors is that it will work with the boards and associations to provide data on both professional and amateur leagues including the domestic circuits. This would help immensely in identifying and nurturing talent at early stages. Coaches would also benefit greatly having a myriad of player stats on hand.

CricHQ app is also available for both Android and iOS devices. The app lets the fans follow their favorite cricketers and get notifications each time they play. One can also post comments, join the community discussion on various matches and share their favorite moments from the game right from their devices.

Brendon McCullum, the New Zealand Captain says “Capturing the entire spectrum of cricket from around the world, the CricHQ Cricket app gives you the most advanced way to follow the cricket you love. Complete with live scoring, ball-by-ball commentary and performance analysis tools, this app keeps you up-to-date with all the action as it happens. Doubling as an advanced scoring system the CricHQ app also provides a quick and simple solution to score cricket, whether it’s an international match or simply a knock around at your local ground.”
