There are many Pakistanis working at the Operation Centers of Microsoft, some of them are at senior positions but let’s talk about those who are operating its subsidiary in Pakistan and are contributing to the country’s tech eco-system.

1) Kamal Ahmad – General Manager

Kamal, a high tech industry expert, is successfully leading operations of Microsoft in Pakistan. He has a passion for innovation, exploration and believes in the value that technology can make a difference in the lives of people.  Before joining Microsoft, he was the Vice President and Managing Director of Nortel, Pakistan. Kamal has also managed several IT and telecom related consultancy projects for UNDP and Sprint, USA.

Kamal Ahmad did his bachelors in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, US. He also did his MBA from the same university. He has an overall experience of more than 20 years in IT and Telecom industry.

2) Shahzad Khan – Channel Lead

Shahzad is successfully leading as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for Microsoft Pakistan and is responsible for driving sales to and through local distributors, re-sellers and system builders. He served as a Technical Marketing Engineer at Intel, US for 12 years and his major accomplishment was directing successfully the launch of Intel’s Core 2 brand, the largest brand shift for Intel since the introduction of Pentium in 1993.

Shahzad Khan, one of the brightest stars of Aitchison College, did his bachelors in Electrical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, US and MBA from Yale University, US.

3) Salman Siddiqui – Partner Business & Development Manager

Salman worked as an AP Manager and Channel Sales Head in Microsoft Pakistan. Besides implementing SAM programs for the creation of license expansion opportunities in Key Corporate Accounts, he was also responsible for engaging with the government on software piracy programs. He is currently serving as a Partner Business & Development Manager at Microsoft Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has been awarded several awards at national and international level.

Salman did his MBA from IBA Karachi and CMA part 1 & 2 from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

4) Tabish Shah – Enterprise Partner Group Lead

Tabish Sabah has worked as an EPG lead and Education Sector Manager at Microsoft Pakistan and was responsible for the Microsoft Enterprise Business which includes communication, commercial, financial and public sector sales as well as increasing partner competencies for the EPG. He has also served as a Business Unit Leader for Financial Sector at Teradata Corporation. He is the man behind success of Teradata Pakistan. He is currently serving as a Chief Executive at TouchPoint Group, Pakistan.

The multi-talented Tabish is a regular speaker at various IT and business events, he is also a golfer and a strong cricketer. He has been awarded 7 Global Recognition Awards and 1 Global Leadership Award by Teradata. Tabish did MBA in Banking & Finance from IBA, Karachi.

5) Naveed Bajwa – Education Sector Lead

Naveed worked as a Developer & Platforms Group Manager and Developer Evangelist at Microsoft Pakistan. His key responsibilities were building strong relationship with the major stakeholders within the local IT eco-system and developing strategies to take Pakistan’s tech eco-system to next level of growth. He has also worked for 8 years in a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner (KalSoft) as a Lead Architect. He is currently working as an Education Sector Lead at Microsoft.

Naveed did his bachelors in Computer Science from FAST NU.

6) Shoaib Khalil – SMS Lead, Pakistan

Shoaib first joined Microsoft as an OEM in January 2005 where he worked on launching national PC initiatives with the aim of making personal computers affordable for over 2 million policy holders of State Life. Later, he served as a Partner Account Manager (PAM) for SAP, Malaysia. Currently he is working as a SMSP (Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners) lead in Microsoft Pakistan. He was also part of a health care Brand Team at Reckitt Benckiser.

Shoaib Khalil did his BBA and MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.

7) Abid Zaidi – Country Enterprise & Partner Group Lead

Abid is currently working as a Country Enterprise & Partner Group Lead in Microsoft Pakistan. His key responsibilities include developing and attracting talent, delivering results through team work and creating a culture of Accountability and Compliance at all times. He has also served as an Account Director at NCR Corporation managing Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan for Payment & Imaging Solutions Business.

Abid Zaidi did his MBA and BBA from IBA Karachi.
