In an effort to expand its consumer reach in all parts of Pakistan, Uber officially launched uberAUTO Rickshaw service in Karachi. The global ride-hailing service began its Rickshaw operation in Pakistan from Lahore couple of months ago.
In the metropolitan city of Pakistan, there is no denial that Rickshaw service is one of the cheapest modes of transportation. Most of the people in the big city utilize the services of Rickshaw while moving from one place to another.
There are plenty of local Rickshaws already in Karachi. However, with the launch of uberAUTO, a traveler would be able to move from one destination to another at a cheaper rate.
The official statement on the website of Uber read:
“Every city is unique, with its own sights to see and roads to travel. Our aim at Uber is to adapt our technology to provide safe, reliable, and affordable transportation in each of the 500 cities Uber is available in. This is why we couldn’t be more excited to introduce uberAUTO, Pakistan’s first rickshaw service at the tap of an app is now available in Karachi”
The further statement read as:
“Affordable and sized to navigate through even the worst traffic jams, it’s easy to understand why Rickshaws are such a popular way to get around Karachi. With uberAUTO, we are using technology to better serve our riders and the city they live in”
uberAUTO pricing in Karachi
The fares of uberAUTO in Karachi are as following:
Base price: Rs. 35/-
Per kilometer charges: Rs. 3/-
Per minute charges: Re. 1/-
Compulsory minimum amount: Rs. 50/-
It is pertinent to mention that when uberAUTO launched Rickshaw service in Lahore, the fares were slightly different. The base price was Rs. 45/- while per kilometer charges were Rs. 4/-. The reason of lowering the prices to Rs. 35/- and Rs. 3/- respectively is to secure more customer attraction.
In addition, uberAUTO is also offering 5 free rides up to Rs. 75/- until Sunday (27th November) in Karachi.
How to avail uberAUTO service?
The procedure is very simple. All you need is to follow the subsequent steps:
1- Download or open the Uber application in your smartphone
2- Enter the promo code ‘FREEAUTO’
3- Slide the icon to ‘uberAUTO’
4- Confirm your pickup location and request a ride to enjoy 5 rides until Sunday (27th November)
