Is Alibaba in Talks of Collaboration With TCS And Yayvo?

The official team from the world’s largest online retailer, Alibaba and one of Pakistan’s top courier, logistics and e-commerce providers, TCS and Yayvo, conducted a business negotiations session in Karachi to discuss the B2B potential in the country. The representatives also deliberated about the scope of e-commerce market development in Pakistan.

Minutes of the meeting

The meeting between the business teams lasted long. During the meeting, Alibaba officials also paid a visit to TCS offices besides visiting the primary hub of courier and logistics business. The details are not yet disclosed by the companies; however, it is anticipated that there is going to be a collaboration on the cards.

During their visit, Alibaba officials have been updated about the role and the presence of TCS in the local market. The TCS management also informed them about the company’s association with the global logistics leader United Parcel Service (UPS) for international services. The representatives of Alibaba also visited the head office of Yayvo in Karachi where they talked about the ongoing and future trends of e-commerce in Pakistan.

TCS is playing an extremely effective role in ensuring quality logistics business in the Pakistani market. Its dominance in the domestic market along with its coalition with UPS empowers it to provide a wide range of services to its customers. In addition, all these efforts also supplement end-to-end distribution and shipment solutions to over 220 countries across the world.

There is no doubt that Alibaba is intending to enter and explore the Pakistani market. There are two options for them: either entering directly or via a local company. It is pertinent to mention that AliPay is going to be launched in Pakistan very soon.
