In a first of its kind, Aqsa Kausar – an engineering graduate of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) – has become Pakistan’s premier and first Google Developer Expert in Machine Learning. No other Pakistani has achieved this feat before Aqsa.
About the prodigy – Aqsa Kausar
Aqsa obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from NUST with a CGPA of 3.79. She has already made a name for herself at such a young age by contributing vastly in the field of Machine Learning.
To her credit, there are plenty of accolades including arranging different workshops in various events like Google DevFest 2018 and Google Cloud Next Extended 2019 which took place in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. Moreover, not too long ago, she also participated in Google’s Machine Learning Train-The-Trainer session which was held in Singapore.
At present, Aqsa is associated with a Software company, Red Buffer in the capacity of Machine Learning Engineer.
In an interview to TechJuice, the young prodigy of Pakistan stated:
“Being a part of Red Buffer has helped me immensely in my journey to becoming a GDE. Red Buffer has some of the best talents in Machine Learning & AI including some amazing tech-savvy women. Our CEO Tayyab Tariq has always been highly supportive and encouraging in my GDE journey. He often says: it’s not about you, it’s about how you use what you have to help others”
She showered plenty of praise for the company’s CEO who proved to be of great help for Aqsa. During her spare time, she writes blogs for an online publishing platform – Medium. According to Aqsa Kausar, there is exponential potential in this very field. In addition, she urges the youth of Pakistan – women especially – to learn about this field since it offers promising future. She added:
“I believe more women should step forward and make use of this amazing opportunity. Not just for their personal growth and networking, but also to widen the culture of knowledge sharing in Pakistan”

Machine Learning and Google Developer Expert Programme
Essentially, Machine Learning is the subset of Artificial Intelligence (AI). At its most basic, it is the practice of using algorithms to parse data, learn from it, and then make a determination or prediction about something in the world.
Likewise, Google Developer Expert is a global program which recognizes the knowledgeable and bright minds all across the globe. If any individual possesses substantial knowledge in more than one Google technologies, the chances of becoming a Google Developer Expert are upbeat. Once selected, an expert is then required to make necessary contributions in their one-year long tenure. Additionally, they also assist the developers.
