Future Of Biking In Pakistan: Fuel Free, Electric Bikes About To Launch In Pakistan Market

The reduction of  pollution has remained one of the major problems for the world. The technological framework and infrastructure improvements have seen economic potential explode but it has also resulted in extensive pollution. Such has been the problem that a city like Beijing has air that remains a health hazard.

The technological advancement in electric battery has been unable to keep up pace with modern day requirements. Even as Tesla continues to provide modern innovation, the benefits are yet to pour in for smaller countries due to high price tags.

Homegrown Solution for a Global Problem

Jolta international — a local Rawalpindi based company — wants to change the perception about electric automobiles being expensive & out of reach of masses. The first all-electric and home produced bikes prepared by the company are soon to hit the market. This provides cheap transport option along with zero omissions.

The company concluded after research that bikes are the main transport vehicle in Pakistan. The feat of creating all-electric bikes is one of the most revolutionary feats in Pakistan automobile industry. It can also be seen as a cornerstone of further innovations and improvements in the local industry that has seemed to stagnate comparing with global trends.

Main features

  1. First prototypes to be launched mimic the already existing motorcycle models and are available in 70 cc, 100 cc, and 125 cc versions
  2. The charging time is in the range of 6 to 8 hours and once fully charged offer a diverse range of 50 to 80 km (depending on load and road conditions)
  3. Top speed of the bike is supposed to remain under 70 km/h (official test figures are yet to be released)
  4. Accessory features included in all models
  • Digital meter
  • Keyless ignition
  • Disk brakes
  • Emergency alarm system
  • Automated locks

The bikes will have zero emissions. The company aims to continue working on research and development to create further prototypes based on the market response that they will receive once the first models hit the road.

The company is yet to announce the official date of release as well as the pricing model of the electric bikes.
