Being world’s best airport for two or even three years is not a big deal. Certainly not. However, maintaining the top position for seventh consecutive year is definitely a massive thing. It speaks volume; it literally does. According to the latest rankings by Skytrax, Singapore’s Changi is declared as the world’s best airport. The streak remains unbeaten for Asia’s best airport as Singapore dominates the chart for the record seventh straight year.

From the previous year’s ranking, Tokyo’s airport jumped up a single place to secure the No. 2 position. On the other hand, Seoul’s airport demoted to No. 3 position this year from No. 2 last year.

List of world’s best airports (top 10)

  • Singapore Changi

  • Incheon, Seoul

Singapore Changi handled colossal 65.6 million passengers last year. In addition, the airport is now further expanding its capacity to encounter the growing demand for air travel. Subsequently, Changi is now building a fifth terminal along with an additional runway which will be the third one. Besides all of it, Singapore will also establish a luxurious shopping-dining-leisure facility which will be known as Jewel. As a result, more passengers will be attracted towards this region.

It is pertinent to mention that two airports in Tokyo, namely: Haneda and Narita, have made in the list of world’s best airports. Haneda’s managed to jump up a single place while Narita got promoted from No. 11 to No. 9 this year.

In terms of premium and scintillating airport dining experience, Hong Kong’s airport was declared as the No. 1 airport followed by Singapore’s Changi.

Munich Airport vowed to be the best airfields in Europe. London’s Heathrow secured the second place among the best airfields in Europe.

Haneda, Tokyo was named as the world’s cleanest airport while Singapore Changi grabbed the top award for best leisure amenities and airport hotel.

U.S. Airports couldn’t make the top 10 list

Surprisingly, not a single U.S. airport were among the best airports in the world. The highest ranked U.S. airport (in North America) was Vancouver and it was ranked at No. 17. However, the best ranked airport in the U.S. was Denver’s airports and it was placed at No. 32.
