Invest2Innovate announces a seed grant of £10k along with its 5th batch of Healthtech startup

Invest2Innovate (i2i) has just announced its 5th batch of healthtech startups for its annual accelerator. The startups will get the opportunity to grow and evolve their businesses through the accelerator program. Moreover, the startups will be provided with resources, networks, support, investment and guidance by important players in the industry.

In collaboration with Palladium and dubbed the i2ixHANIF Accelerator, Invest2Innovate is following a theme of health, nutrition and accountability. After a thorough and competitive process, 4 startups were selected out of 200+ applicants. 2 startups were selected from Lahore while 1 each from Karachi and Islamabad. All these startups will also be eligible for a grant of £10,000 ($13,106). Following are the four startups that got selected:

1- Asaan Doctor

Asaan Doctor is both web and SMS-based. It is a simplified, affordable and scalable medical platform for underserved communities with a special focus on privacy.

2- Ammi Service

It will be using mobile technology to address maternal and low infant mortality rates.

3- Grit 3D

The main aim behind Grit 3D is to empower amputees by doing some actual ground work. Their work is centered on making functional 3D-printed prosthetic hands to assist people with amputations.

4- Jaan Pakistan

It is working with a goal to introduce clean cooking stoves in Pakistan to save lives in rural, off-grid communities.

About i2i and the Accelerator program

Under the leadership of Kalsoom Lakhani, Invest2Innovate was founded in 2011 with an aim to support entrepreneurs in Pakistan. The company is committed to achieve this goal. Additionally, i2i is one of the oldest startup support program in Pakistan.

Besides creating more than 200 job opportunities, they have accelerated number of startups. Furthermore, they have also raised over $1 million in grants, donations and investment.

The i2i Accelerator is a 4 month long program that runs from September to January each year in Pakistan. In the span of these 4 months, the selected entrepreneurs will go through rounds of meetings, virtual support to grow their businesses, targeted sessions by mentors on various topics like customer acquisition and operations. The accelerator has over 35 local mentors with a proven track record.
