Microsoft Announces Abid Zaidi As The New Country Manager For Pakistan

In a latest development, Abid Zaidi has been chosen as the new Country Manager for Microsoft Pakistan, effective from 1st August 2017. In addition, he has also joined the regional leadership team ever since his appointment.

About Abid Zaidi

Abid held multiple pivotal positions in Microsoft after joining them 10 years ago in 2007. Some of the key positions which he held were commercial segment lead and enterprise director for Pakistan. Moreover, he emphasized on creating customer success during his tenure. He achieved this feat through shaping strategies for digital transformation within Microsoft’s enterprise customers.

Before joining Microsoft in 2007, Abid worked at Unisys and NCR. In addition, he has an ample experience of working in Pakistan as well as abroad. He is also a result-driven business leader with enormous sales and business management experience. Furthermore, his track record in managing high performing teams is quite exemplary too.

An MBA from IBA Karachi, Abid will be continuing to perform his new role from Microsoft office in Karachi. It is pertinent to mention that he will be taking upon Microsoft’s leadership at a crucial time when a company is also in a dire need of transformation.

Abid Zaidi replaces Shahzad Khan

Prior to Abid’s appointment, Shahzad Khan was the Country Manager for Microsoft Pakistan. The latter has now been moved to a new regional role within the company. His new role will be to take charge as the new Small Medium Corporate Lead covering 13 countries; from North Africa all the way to Pakistan.

Shahzad will be primarily responsible for leading the channel transformation besides exploring the complete potential of the small, medium and corporate segments in the region. He will be bringing along his much-needed experience to get things done for the organization.
