Microsoft Will Pay You to Use Bing as Your Preferred Search Engine

Good news for people living in US and UK as Microsoft is launching a reward program to promote its services. The reward program effectively means that Microsoft will pay you if you use Bing as your preferred search engine.

Microsoft’s Loyalty Program

The loyalty program called Microsoft Rewards is now being opened to more users. The program which has remained a regular feature for users within US is now going to be expanded to UK as well. One of the key factors in the program is Microsoft’s need for more people to use its search engine Bing.

Microsoft Rewards gives people loyalty points for searching with Bing (if you ever needed an incentive to switch search engine). These points can later be redeemed for items available at the Microsoft Store. You can also gain extra points for taking part in product quizzes, entering competitions, and completing different challenges.

The default state means that all Bing users start out at Level 1, and can gain rank to reach Level 2 by collecting 500 points in a single month. Once you reach Level 2, the floodgate literally opens up. Level 2 opens up an exciting world with exclusive offers, and also allows users to earn more points per day.

The Reward System

All of the members earn 3 points per Bing search. However Level 1 members can earn a maximum of 30 points per day, while Level 2 members can earn a maximum of 150 points per day. The points for completing quizzes remain the same for both levels – a flat 30 points for completing quizzes.

Users can redeem the points anytime they wish depending on the total reward points accumulated.

Kevin Stagg, Head of Consumer Marketing at Microsoft, said:

“Unlike other reward schemes, where you have to spend money to get points, all you have to do with ours is run your searches through Bing and points will automatically register in your account as long as you’re logged in.”

Microsoft Reward point isn’t available in Pakistan at the moment. You may however, have some relative in US or UK who may find this interesting if they already aren’t aware of it. Microsoft Rewards is planning rollouts in France, Germany, and Canada planned for the near future.
