PCB honors Edhi Foundation; Pepsi Pakistan also donates Rs. 1 Million

On 17th June 2016, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Edhi Foundation joined hands as the PCB honored Abdul Sattar Edhi’s Foundation by associating themselves with Pakistan Cricket team. The logo of Edhi has been imprinted on the official kits (ODIs and T20I) of Pakistan cricket players for the tour against England that will be starting from 14th July next month.

Abdul Sattar Edhi started as a one man show in the outskirts of Karachi from his home. It is now one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. Not only this, the man himself possesses dignity, integrity and there would be barely any individual who would ever trust his intentions.

The logo of Edhi foundation on the kit of Pakistan Cricket team players would be the first time in the history of Pakistan Cricket that players would be wearing logos of a charitable organization on their official kits.

This is not it. Pepsi Pakistan’s Vice President, Mr. Jahanzeb Khan and the Head of Marketing, Mr. Salman Butt were also present at the auspicious occasion a week ago. Pepsi also recognized the efforts of the Edhi foundation and while acknowledging the services of one of the world’s finest charitable organizations, Pepsi presented a cheque of Rs. 1 million to the venture.

This is not the first time that Pepsi has demonstrated their corporate social responsibility. They have always been on the frontline when it comes to contributing in social and noble causes. Pepsi is also the lead sponsor of Pakistan Cricket team over the years now and through fulfilling their social responsibility, they have won the hearts all across Pakistan, once again.

Not too long ago, Pepsi Pakistan recently launched #LightingUpLives Campaign and the ultimate purpose of the campaign was to liter the light especially in those areas that are in dire need of it. Thorough and detailed information has previously been given about it. You can have a crack at it here.

The cheque of Rs. 1 million was presented by the Vice President of Pepsi Pakistan, Mr. Jahanzeb Khan on the 17th of June at a ceremony where PCB and Edhi Foundation joined hands. The cheque was received by the grandson and the Trustee of Edhi Foundation, Mr. Saad Edhi.

It was an exceptional collective effort from both PCB and Pepsi to recognize the hardcore efforts of arguably one of the greatest philanthropists in the world. Moreover, this move will surely raise a lot of awareness globally.
